OUR PASTORS

TRUSTON & RACHEL BABA

Pastor Truston and his wife, Rachel, moved to DFW to plant More Church in 2010. Their heart is to point the way to the light of Christ’s love. They want to see people healed, delivered, and set free; finding the more that God has for their life. Truston is an energetic, bold speaker with a passion to show love and speak truth. Because of his great love for people, he never misses an opportunity to present the message of the Gospel.

MEET THE TEAM

OUR STORY

In 2010, a team of individuals began to make preparations to leave other ministry positions and full-time jobs and move to DFW to launch More Church. On October 10th, 2010, More Church opened its doors to the people of DFW in a rental facility in Mansfield. Every week, a faithful team arrived early to setup and teardown everything needed to create an environment for people to connect to Jesus.

Since that day, we have met in schools, in hotel rooms, in fields, in homes, in rented spaces, in owned spaces, in auditoriums. And now God has expanded us into the city of Arlington at our current building.

Before More Church began, it existed in the heart of God. God laid on our hearts the belief that there’s MORE. Our logo is an asterisk - it’s more than a symbol. It’s a statement. Each time we see it, it reminds us that we can never be satisfied, and keeps us moving forward into all that God has for us. And what was true then is still true today - God has MORE for not only this church - He has MORE for your family too.

Our mission is to create a healthy and fun place for people to find God's more.

OUR BELIEFS

JESUS

God had a desire to live life with us and experience what we experience, good and bad. He accomplished this through the birth of His son, Jesus Christ. We believe He is God with us. He lived a sinless life, was crucified for the sins of us all, was buried, and rose again from the dead, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to Earth to reign as King. We believe there is no way to the Father except through Jesus.

(Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 4:14-15)

HOLY SPIRIT

When Jesus ascended to heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to join us, fill us, and teach us to live Christ-centered lives. When you see a believer full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control, you know that the Holy Spirit is alive in them. In addition to that, the Holy Spirit can empower believers to witness, pray beyond their own human capabilities, and operate in a number of other spiritual gifts.

(John 14:16-17, 16:7-15; Acts 1:8, 2:4; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18)

THE BIBLE

We believe that God speaks through the Bible to us today, and it’s our constant endeavor to seek to understand His message and apply it to our lives. We hold the scripture in high esteem, and give our absolute best to presenting it passionately, clearly, and relevantly. We believe the entire Bible is the living and active, inspired Word of God. God gave the Bible to us through men who were moved by the Spirit to write the words of Scripture. The Bible is without error. If you think the Bible is boring then we challenge you to take a closer look at it with us, because it can and should shape the way we live.

(Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; Hebrews 4:12)

PRAYER

We believe there’s power in prayer because prayer changes things. We believe that when people pray, God listens. Prayer is a two-way conversation. Prayer is not just us talking to God, but us taking time to listen to Him. We believe that through prayer we can receive direction in life, physical healing, peace that surpasses the chaos of our situation, and direct connection with our Father.

(1 John 5: 13-15, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Jeremiah 29:12, James 5:13-20, Mark 11:24)

THE CHURCH

We believe that the church is the body of Christ. It is made up of people growing in God, worshipping together, connecting to each other, and serving those in need. The church is also the place where we have a public declaration of faith through water baptism and we remember Jesus’ sacrifice through taking communion together. Jesus’ purpose was to seek and save that which was lost. The church has the same goal, to not only be a place for those who have a relationship with Jesus, but to welcome those who don’t.

(Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12:12-30; Ephesians 1:19-23; 4:15-16; Colossians 1:18)

COMMUNITY

As early as Genesis, we see that God designed us to be in community – even God Himself demonstrates community in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that not only is life meant to be lived together – it’s better that way. From our Known Zones to our Core Teams, there are plenty of ways to find and experience community here at More Church.

(Genesis 2:18; Hebrews 10:25; Matthew 18:20; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)

WOMEN IN MINISTRY

More Church has been and will continue to be built on sons AND daughters. And after examining the various translations and interpretations of biblical passages relating to the role of women in the first-century church and applying biblical principles to contemporary church practice, we cannot find convincing evidence that the ministry of women is restricted according to some sacred or immutable principle.

We believe that a believer’s gifts – not their gender – make way for their ministry. More Church affirms the gifts of women in all levels of ministry and spiritual leadership.

TRANSPARENCY

As a church, we demonstrate transparency both onstage and off. We believe it is through our being humble, open, and transparent with our stories and our lives that opens the door for our people to do the same. And so we allow our lives and our stories to be a canvas for others, in the hope that our willingness to be raw and real about our struggles and successes will pave the way for others to find victory.
